55 Year Class Reunion

OK, we did it again, this was the best one ever. The committee arrived at the KC Hall at 9:00 AM
to decorate the tables. Personally, I think they did an outstanding job and the facility looked great.
At 5:30 PM they were back to get everything set up. The ladies handled the sign in table while Kenny C.
took care of the last minute details.
At 6:00 PM the crowd started coming in and by 7:00 the room was filled with happy people reuniting
with old friends. Kenny C. took the microphone, introduced the committee and then asked Kendall Tarr
to give the opening prayer. We then enjoyed a great meal catered by Hartrich's of Ste Marie.
After dinner Kenny introduced Pat Hildebrand who was MC for the evening. Class business items were
taken care of and Kendall was called upon again to honor our deceased classmates. He called out each name
and asked for a moment of silence before ending with a prayer. Pat read some poetry written by class members
our sophomore year. When asked to guess the name of the poet, most of the poets could not even remember their
own literary creations. Pat then read some notes and letters sent in by classmates that were unable to attend.
The microphone was then passed to each classmate to introduce themselves and their spouse. It was during
this time that "Pinky" Nichols did an outstanding 15 minute standup comedy routine as part of the
entertainment. If he hadn't been such a great insurance salesman I believe he could have done very well
on the comedy club tour. At the end of the evening a group picture was taken and all were given an opportunity
to purchase one.
We want to thank the committee, Kenny Cummins, Betty King, Ilene Johnson & Marion Jones for their hard work
and a great reunion. We also wish to thank Pat Hildebrand for a job well done and all of the preparation work
that she did. Kendall Tarr was also a big part of the program and very much appreciated. During
the business meeting a new committee was appointed for the next reunion (60!!) and they are: Barbara Mulvey
(chairperson), Mim Mouser, Anna Fischer, Donna McCrillis & Judy Smith.
Just one more thing. The amateur photographer we hired to take snapshots for the web site took over 150 pictures
and he still missed getting photo's of a few classmates. We apologize to any that were missed, I guess
that's what happens when you hire someone that cheap.
